1. Who we are
WanderNao (wandernao.com) is a platform that connects travelers with local Guides and Tour Companies in Korea, operated by CEO Nguyễn Văn Khuê and the WanderNao team. This policy explains what data we collect, what we use it for, and what rights you have.
2. Data we collect
- Account: username, email and password (hashed one-way, so no one can read it, including the WanderNao team). If you sign in with Google, we receive the name, email and profile picture that Google shares.
- Profile you fill in yourself: display name, avatar, bio, city, languages, topics, phone number and social media links (Facebook, Zalo, Instagram). Contact fields are optional.
- Tour Company profile: company name, description, logo, email, phone number, office address, website and payout currency.
- Activity on the platform: booking requests to Guides (travel date, group size, message), Tour bookings, chat messages and photos, posts, comments, photos, videos, reviews and abuse reports.
- Technical data: when you were last active (to show online status), the language, time zone and currency you choose, and visit statistics from Google Analytics.
- WanderNao does not take online payments yet, so we do not collect or store bank card details.
3. How we use your data
- To create and protect your account, and to send verification codes (OTP) and password reset emails.
- To display profiles, help travelers find the right Guide and Tour, and deliver booking requests, Tour bookings and messages to the right person.
- To send notifications about bookings, messages and the community. You can turn off each type of email in your profile settings.
- To moderate content, handle abuse reports, and prevent fraud and fake accounts.
- To measure visits and improve the website.
- We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Who can see your data
- Everyone: public profiles of Guides and Tour Companies (name, photo, bio, city, languages, topics), Tours, blog posts, community posts, comments and reviews.
- Signed-in members only: the email, phone number and social media links on Guide profiles, and Tour Companies' contact details.
- People you contact: the Guide or Tour Company receives your request, Tour booking and messages, along with your display name and avatar. Messages are shown only to the two people in the conversation.
- The WanderNao team: accesses data, including messages, only when needed to operate the service, support you, or handle abuse reports or incidents.
- Government authorities: when required by law.
5. Third-party services
- Amazon Web Services: servers and database located in Seoul, Korea.
- Google: Google sign-in, sending email (Gmail), storing data backups (Google Drive) and visit statistics (Google Analytics).
- Interface libraries loaded from content delivery networks (jsDelivr, cdnjs), YouTube videos embedded in pages, and stickers from Giphy. These services may receive your browser's IP address when loading content.
6. Cookies
- We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms against forgery (CSRF), and remember your language and time zone.
- Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count visits. You can block these cookies in your browser and the website will still work normally.
7. Storage and protection
- All connections are encrypted with HTTPS. Admin accounts use two-factor authentication, and uploaded files are checked before being saved.
- Data is backed up daily so it can be restored after an incident.
- Accounts that sign up but never verify their email are deleted automatically after about one hour.
- Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. After an account is deleted, its data may remain in older backups for some time and is used only to recover from incidents.
8. Your rights
- View and edit your profile information at any time on the profile edit page.
- Delete your own posts, comments and photos, and turn off each type of notification email.
- Request a copy of your data, request account deletion, or withdraw your consent by emailing us from your account's email address. We respond within 30 days.
9. Children
WanderNao is not intended for children under 14. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 14 without parental consent, we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will be announced on the website.
